IN THE MAKING - The first ÉIS collection is coming soon

The Process

Everything starts with an idea.

Sometimes there’s a sketch. Sometimes there isn’t. More often, an idea takes shape while I’m working — carved, changed, reconsidered and worked again until it feels right.

ÉIS pieces are designed and crafted by hand in Dublin, using traditional jewellery techniques alongside whatever process best suits the piece.

An Idea

Inspiration can come from almost anywhere - nature, history, old stories, found objects, or simply a shape worth exploring.

Making

Making isn't always a straight line. Pieces change along the way. Some ideas become something entirely different, while others don't even make it past the bench. Some pieces are cast using the lost-wax process, transforming the original wax into metal. Others are worked directly in metal — the process depends entirely on the piece.

Finishing

Depending on the piece and the final look I'm looking this can involve filing, sanding, polishing, oxidizing, stone setting or a combination of them.

Worn

The finished piece, finally where it's meant to be.
